BackgroundOn 20 June 2001, Australia's Senate agreed to an order which requires each government agency (as defined by the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997) to publish aspects of its contracts with a value of $100,000 or more on its Internet homepage. The Senate subsequently amended its order on 27 September 2001, in June 2003 and again on 4 December 2003. The Government has agreed in principle to comply with the spirit of the Senate order. Relevant ContractsPursuant to the Senate Order on departmental and agency contracts the following list sets out contracts entered into by the National Capital Authority which provide for a consideration to the value of $100 000 or more and which:
