On Saturday 24 July from 11am the National Capital Authority will be conducting a hazard reduction burn at the Lindsay Pryor National Arboretum. Debris and woody weeds that have been cleared from the site will be burned as part of the plan to restore the original plantings of the arboretum. NCA Executive Director of National Capital Estate, Alison Walker-Kaye said Canberrans should be aware of the burning. “The hazard reduction burn will cause some smoke in the area and public access to parts of the arboretum will be restricted”. In April this year the NCA released a masterplan to upgrade and restore the Lindsay Pryor National Arboretum. |
