Past Proposed Amendments Print Write e-mail

Section 6 of the Australian Capital Territory (Planning and Land Management) Act 1988 (the PALM Act) provides that the National Capital Authority (NCA) is responsible, among other things, for preparing and administering the National Capital Plan (the Plan), for keeping the Plan under constant review, and for proposing amendments to it when necessary.

The NCA has recently reviewed the status of past proposed and incomplete Draft Amendments to the Plan.

On 10 December 2009 the NCA Board agreed that the following four (4) past proposed amendments be formally withdrawn and where appropriate their content incorporated into the broader review of the National Capital Plan:

  • Draft Amendment 17 - Signs Policy (replaced by Amendment 25);
  • Draft Amendment 18 - Telecommunications Policies (replaced by Amendment 21);
  • Draft Amendment 40 - National Capital Plan Comprehensive Review; and
  • Draft Amendment 51 - Pierces Creek.

In addition the NCA Board also agreed that all previously proposed Draft Amendments not on the existing register be withdrawn, and that all future requests be treated as requests for new Draft Amendments.

If you would like any further information on this matter, please contact the National Capital Plan unit on (02) 6271 2823
