Fishing
Fishing is a popular pastime around the lake, with the main species in Lake Burley Griffin being Golden Perch, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Redfin, European Carp and Murray Cod. Many people fish from the shoreline, however you can also fish in the lake using a non-powered boat. A fishing licence for recreational fishing is not required in the ACT, however there are regulations including bag limits and minimum sizes. Visit the ACT government website for full details.
